PARALEGAL

Kinnar Power graduated from the Schulich School of Law at Dalhousie University, after which he returned to his home province of Alberta. Before law school, Kinnar obtained his Master of Arts in Political Science from Dalhousie University, and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of Alberta, Campus Saint-Jean.

Kinnar’s practice centers around family law and general civil litigation. He employes a client-centered approach, tailoring his strategy to the particular needs and circumstances of his clients. He explores options for cooperative out-of-court settlement processes but is also very comfortable with litigation in court where necessary, including in situations of high conflict during and after separation. Kinnar has litigation experience in both Provincial Court and the Court of King’s Bench, including defending and contesting Emergency Protection Orders.

While in law school, Kinnar worked as a research assistant dealing with various legal issues in the areas of family law, constitutional law, animal law, and prison law. Kinnar is fluent in French and assists clients in both of Canada’s official languages. In his spare time, he enjoys playing guitar and piano, going for hikes and walks, and spending time with his fiancée and their dog Sven.
