Amir joined Queck & Associates in June of 2020 as an articling student. Amir received his LL.B from the University Of London, UK and his LL.M from Bond University, Australia. He completed the Internationally Trained Lawyer Pathway at the University Of Alberta Faculty Of Law and received his Certificate of Qualification from the National Committee on Accreditation of the Federation of Law Societies of Canada. He also holds a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Calgary in Social Sciences with a minor in Political Science.
Prior to studying law, Amir had diverse career interests. He worked as an entrepreneur, an Insurance Advisor with two of Canada’s major banks, and as a Customer Service Representative. Providing excellent customer service is an essential component of how Amir conducts his legal practice.
Amir received distinction in his Alternative Dispute Resolution course in law school. He believes in solving legal disputes through non-litigation mechanisms such as negotiation and mediation In the interest of minimizing legal costs to his clients. Amir also understands that some legal problems require Court. He regularly appears before the Court of Queen’s Bench and the Provincial Court of Alberta in various locations throughout the province.
Amir maintains strong ties with his Pakistani-Canadian community. He is fluent in the Urdu language and conversational in Hindi and Punjabi. Being from a diverse cultural, linguistic and educational background, Amir is able to look at legal issues from many perspectives.
Away from the office you can find Amir playing soccer and cricket and enjoying coffee at local shops in different areas of our city. As a Student-at-Law, Amir works in a variety of practice areas at Queck & Associates with a strong focus on family law.
